Attending a check-in session is a required part of maintaining your F-1 or J-1 visa status in the United States. During the session we will talk to you about the rules of your visa and attendance at UMKC.
Use your application portal username and password to sign up for a check-in session corresponding with your admission term. Note: You must have obtained your visa in order to register. You may upload a copy of your visa to your application status page at any time or when you register for your session. You must be present in Kansas City to attend your check-in session, so select a date that occurs after your arrival.
Registering for a session is just the first step. You must attend your registered session in person. Sessions are usually an hour and a half in length.
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your session's scheduled start. Once the session has begun, latecomers will not be admitted and will need to reschedule for another date.
