Policy Statement

  • It is the responsibility of each unit or school dean’s office to maintain formal agreements for managing all internships and/or clinical placements included in their respective programs (when students are placed for credit or for the purposes of fulfilling degree requirements).
  • The purpose of written agreements is to guide and direct UMKC and it’s partnerships in respecting their affiliation, working arrangements, and agreements to provide high-quality educational experiences for students.
  • Individual unit procedures, person(s) responsible, and location of current agreements will be kept on file in the Office of the Provost.

All new agreements must be submitted to Missouri Contract System for approval.

Reason for Policy

This policy is to support the process of continuous improvement of the quality of the educational programs provided by the academic units. This policy was developed in accordance with UM System expectations and the Higher Learning Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation.

All contracts must be submitted to the contract portal by the academic unit at:   Login Screen for University of Missouri Contract System

  • Enter SSO and Password & select “Go to Download Form page” (if you do not have access to the portal, please email umkccontracts@umkc.edu for assistance)
  • Once on the Missouri Contract System page, click “Download Contract Form(s)” and select the UMKC Template Affiliation Agreement for Educational Experiences.
