Biography

Dr. Rebecca Diemer is the Director of Academic Affairs Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Provost. She grew up in southern New Mexico and has managed academic programs, admissions and enrollment management systems, and student success units at multiple public institutions over the last 20 years. Dr. Diemer joined UMKC in 2023. Her research focuses on the history of higher education systems, structural equity in access to post-secondary education, and higher education policy. Dr. Diemer was awarded the Dissertation of the Year for the College of Education at George Mason University in 2019. Dr. Diemer teaches courses in first-year success, leadership, and research methods.
