Jennifer Lundgren

Biography

Dr. Lundgren joined UMKC in 2006. In addition to serving as the University's chief academic officer since 2020, she also holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Psychology. During her tenure at UMKC, she has served as department chair, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, dean of the School of Graduate Studies and interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Lundgren completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Clinical) from the University at Albany – State University of New York. She completed her clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina and conducted postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Weight and Eating Disorders.

Dr. Lundgren’s research specializes in the interaction of eating behavior and sleep, with expertise in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. She is the author of numerous peer reviewed journal articles and served as lead editor of Night Eating Syndrome: Research Assessment, and Treatment (2012, Guilford Press). She is a Fellow of both the Academy for Eating Disorders and the Obesity Society, and a past recipient of the UMKC Chancellor’s Early Career Award for Excellence in Teaching and the UMKC Student Government Association Advisor of the Year.
