As part of UMKC's mission to attract top-quality students and faculty and to be recognized as a national leader in scholarship and research, we have established an Endowed Chair and Professors program, which aims to add exemplary educators, typically from outside the university, to our ranks. Considered to be among the most esteemed positions at the University, endowed professors are leaders in scholarship, teaching and service and are held to high standards and expectations that are in line with the status and importance of these positions.
